Thumbs down 2010 Payrise ....

What's the average this year?

I've been offered 5.2% .... which just keeps pace with inflation and my extra pension costs - not happy!

well I feel lucky as this Dec is rise time and I've been told to expect 8 - 8.7%. Not sure what others in the department are up for but so far I'd say I'm pretty pleased

1% if we're lucky. Union is arguing about it but I doubt we'll get any more, if we even get that.

i got a 11% increase based on basic wage without commission but still want more as I get paid a rediculously low wage for the work I do in mine and my managers opinion.

Exactly. Might as well give us **** all.

To be fair, they were going to up our discount to 15% from 13% to try to help us out (a long time coming). The combination of the two wouldn't be too bad a deal if we could get all our weekly goods under one roof.

To think Pete thinks he has a bad deal at 5.2%....

That said, I will be grateful as the other half hasn't had a payrise in around 4/5 years and won't be getting one by the looks of it.

We still havent even discussed what our rise will be but knowing my company and the union they will argue till christmas and the week before christmas they will dangle the backpay carrot like they always do and people will accept whatever they offer just to get the money they will owe us which by the time they pay is normally about £1500 per employee.

I did get £2500 for moving garage though which is classed as a disturbance payment for moving to pay increased travelling costs even though its only another 4 miles for me, we will also be getting extra per duty but that purely because they have rescheduled the route and increased the hours on duty hence the increase in duty pay.

I agree, especially PSL, but some do start getting a bit serious with the tape measure.

Keep taking the pills granddad, god forbid you ever come out of the la-la land that you live in.

If you really are being offered 5.2% (unlikely) I'd grab it with both hands. Most private sector works will be lucky to get 2-3%, if you work in the public sector most are on pay freezes.
