Unhappy Just had to put the central heating on.......

Not bad, I suppose, it's been off since the beginning of May, but today was so cold and miserable.

AND I had to make the pump turn, as it wouldn't go at first

Had ours on all day.

We have double-glazing but miraculously still get heavy condensation pretty much every morning on all our bedrooms' windows from September - April. That adds 5 minutes of chamois leather action to the "getting-up time" every morning.

I was always under the impression that double-glazing was supposed to prevent this. Not so.

Better ventilation and less heat might be the answer

Anyway you lot think yourselves lucky, got no central heating at the moment. At least I could turn it on but it would be pretty ineffective against our uninsulated, and unheated extension, hope our builders get a shift on

So extra layer required instead but luckily we have got a gas fire in the lounge and can close it off from the rest of the mayhem so not too bad in there.

No idea how we survived before double glazing, central heating, etc.

It's actually better with the heating on, but you don't want that all night. We also have those little plastic window vents in the top of each frame, but all they seem to do is let in the draughts, noise and spiders!

we had to put our's on last weekend when it was really pi$$ing down all weekend, we had run out of oil so I had to go and get a couple of emergency drums as it was a Saturday afternnon and nobody could deliver, then I had to bleed the pump and it wouldn't clear so I ended up having to loosen the pump until oil started coming out, when I screwed it all back together the pump kicked back into life

We also put it on yesterday for a while too

Was up near you over the weekend. Went to see the wifes folks in Ponte then visted the Model Rail Live show on the way back. First time I've heard a Deltic!

Anyway, it was cold up north and its cold in west wales. I try not to put the heating on until October but I gave in not two minutes ago!

Nope, refuse to mine on yet mate Central heating is pants at my house (as you know) so will not bother putting it on until I have no layers left to wear

Ours went on this weekend. I'm not too bothered, but my other half was complaining about how cold it is. It'll probably keep turning itself off again though!!

If the lighbulbs don't provide enough heat for the missus then I make her put another jumper on.

Turned it on a few days ago , bit pathetic really - was just a bit miserable outside so decided to whack it on to 18 to see if it was still working.

That said there was water on the inside of the double galzed first thing

Turned it down to 15 now

Been on sisnce last week; I had to de-ice the windscreen on the car last Saturday!

Digital thermostat set on low 21 degrees and the new(ish) TRVs are working prefectly.

I am sat here wearing just my underwear though

21 degrees, I wouldn't call that low, it's pretty much a standard room temperature these days. Ours gets set to 19 because I'm a miser

We have managed without the heating here in sunny Devon so far, but we are now using the electric blanket to warm the sheets up for when we go to bed.
