i also enjoyed it, funny. He does come across as a caracature of himself, but still funny regardless.

Did you notice he said "you're having a laugh" 4 times

Nod to "the extras" put in the script..

I thought it was hilarious, not the usual travel program you have to say.

Karl sitting there eating monster munch while some woman sitting neaby is crunching on fried scorpion was great. When realises that in fact HE was the odd one out was priceless.

When there are more of them than there are of you what they do is "normal".

It was very funnny. Whether its scripted or not.

Gervais is highly irritating - seems rather convinced of his own self-importance.

I think you will find the origins of "are you avin a laff" are from Karl, i'd also disagree it's scripted, anyone who ever listened to the gervais anr merchant show on xfm way back when will know that was the real Karl and I remember him using the "phrase".

I remember Gervais saying Karl was the funniest person he knew, back in the days of their radio show, it was the funniest thing on air at the time imo

From what I know of him, in the TV world, that's just what he is like.

I think the program is great. A second series will be great!
