Chris Moyles goes a bit nuts...
Always quite liked him.... but he went a bit nuts this morning on Radio 1.
He reckons he has not been paid, goes a bit crazy on air and starts saying he wont work any more etc etc.
I only really caught the back end of it.. thought WTF.
Anyway, get into work and I was thinking, maybe he has not been paid for like 3 months, or something like that. Then I could see why he might rant on air.
No, 1 month. Thats it. They did not pay him for August yet. Ok so its a bit of a mistake, I think I would be waiting till the end of the month before going live to the nation about it for the sake of 1 months pay!
What a plonker.

thought it was 2 months, his rant was yesterday this morning he explained that he'd spoken to them about it and he keeps getting promised he'll get paid but it never turns up.
Don't wan't to defend him but I imagine his mortgage payments are a little larger than ours and it must hurt a bit to take a pay cut and then get fobbed off with excuses about not being paid.
Seems reasonable to me.

He hasn't been paid since the 1st July so that is nearly three months.
I am guessing that the majority of us would get pretty upset at our employers if we had not been paid for nearly three months.

Hmmm... his actual words were (I went back and listened to it again)
"I have not been paid since the end of July..... not paid for august... nothing for September".
Either I dont understand, but I see that as 1 month. August?
Or mabye not???

Love him or hate him it is irrelevant surely? Moyles has a contract with the BBC which he negotiated (or his agents did) that he provides so many studio and pre/post hours and they pay him so much for this (in round terms).
BBC are breaching his contract for whatever reason which is poor form by them. Also poor form for his rant but i can understand how he feels even though he should have kept it between himself and the BBC - IMHO

he used to be funny but he has gone down a slippery slope fast, just rabbits on constantly. he should still be paid though whatever happens, just makes you wonder if the bbc want him out and want to see if they can push him to leave.

I am sure if you had not been paid since July 1st you would be crying on here or somewhere!

Radio 2 for me.
Moyles wasn't bad but the music played on R1 is awful and I really can't listen to another autotuned "singer".
However, he really should be paid. Bit odd that the BBC haven't paid him? Or perhaps its just some ill-conceived stunt.

Just read the BBC website and sounds like he's trying to shrug off a temper tantrum. Also mention of whether he should bother to go to work. I wonder if his contract is up for review shortly.

His rant was actually quite well done and managed to turn it into being funny. To me a big deal by the newspapers about nothing.
I like Chris Moyles think he is funny and prefer him to all the other morning DJ's. I don't really like the music on Radio 1 but he plays less rubbish than the other DJ's.
