One for Les and other Vulcan fans
Was on my way back from Portsmouth yesterday and on the M4 at Swindon noticed a very large aeroplane flying like a small stunt plane , wtf I thought , doing some mad very low manoeuvres , as we got to Bristol I seen it was the Airbus 380 , so low flying over us you'd swear you could put your arm out the window and touch it , what a sight ! so we pulled off the motorway so we could park up and see it , 5 mins later found ourselves outside Airbus in bristol to find they were having a family day there , it was total chaos outside with joe public turning up and parking up any and everywhere to the total dismay of the local plod , unlucky for me the 380 had just landed and had finished his stint , but we parked up and watched for an hour , they had a fly past of a spitfire , then something rather loud fired up

My father was in the RAF so spent many years living on bases growing up , and had forgotten how loud they are compared to todays jets
What a sight , just sorry I wasn't there to see the 380 doing his stint

I can promise you that modern jet aircraft are pretty bloody loud when they pass this low overhead (note the bushes at the bottom of the shot for an idea of how low this was....)

Saw the Vulcan at Leuchars a week back and it was pretty cool. At one point it was going so slow that it appeared to just hang in the air. Really big aircraft as well, it's like watching something out of sci-fi!

I was behind a fence and that was zoomed in a little, but I was probably within 10-15m of it. I looked like you could queue up to be taken over to it - I think the peeps in high vis jackets were joe soaps that had queued.

Saw the Lanc, Hurricane and Spitfire at the Goodwood Revival Meeting on Saturday, They did their usual impressive flypasts. The Spit and the Hurri landed and later took off again and did a few beat-ups of the airfield-lucky hooligans! The Vulcan did not appear which was a disappointment.
Great day all round at Goodwood. Even better than before, more to see and do, and the racing was outstanding. Those blokes don't hang back in those historic racers. Martin Brundell had everyone out of their seats!
