Default Quick question on diesel engines.

Ok, my missus bought a a car a few weeks ago from a main dealer, and they said they would service it, but when we picked it up the power steering makes a noise so i thought i'd check the fluid level and whilst i was there i thought i may as well check the oil level, and the oil is black as a very black thing, it's only done 1000-2000 miles since she bought it, should the oil really be that black in such a short time, or perhaps they did'nt bother changing it?
And would anyone know why the power steering would be noisy (very) and the steering wheel pulse's when you hold it on full lock!

Take it back and voice your concerns - you only have a limited amount of time (1 month???) As it's from a dealer it has to come with a warrantee.

Bought it long distance, but it has got full 12 months approved used car warranty, was just wondering whether they had really serviced it or just stamped the book!

Ok, thanks for that, did'nt want to start suggesting they had'nt serviced it
without checking first, i was'nt to sure about diesel engines dis-colouring the oil quicker than petrol engines, just have to get the power steering pump checked out now.
