Default Halogen/LED downlighters.

I bought three of these about 5 years ago. The bulbs, rather than being held in by springs, were held in by bezels which had a screw thread, allowing them to be screwed/unscrewed easily from the light body.
At the time, coloured bezels made of glass to add highlights, were available.

I've recently broken one, and although it has been almost invisibly repaired with Araldite, I'd like to replace it, but the seller, Screwfix, no longer carries them.
Anyone know where I could buy similar? Most new lights seem to have gone back to the awful spring-retained lamps

I've got some Wickes ones that are like that, purchased recently.

These were fire rated and can be tilted.

I get my down lighter from these, good price and customer service as well

I swapped all my 50w halogens for 9wCLF bulbs (equiverlant to a 35w halogen bulb, 11w CFL would have been the 50w version).

Are you talking about the GU10 bulbs? I haven't seen the screw in ones, but I have seen loads with the retaining clips. I don't hink those are needed, unless they are the moveable downlighters instead of fixed position.
Try ebay.

No, not the bulbs, the bulb-retaining mechanism. In most of mine, it's a spring. In these ones, it's ametal ring with a screw thread that screws into the downlighter. You could buy coloured glass ones for effect. Mine were blue to match his room, gives a blue glow to the outer edge of the light.

Not seen any since Screwfix stopped selling them.

Just checked: made by Halolite, labelled HA-DLM351.

Exclusive to Screwfix, apparently, but I've e-mailed them to ask if they are still available.
