Do you train/exercise?
FUDGE ME!!!
Just decided I need to do a bit of 'keep fit' to maintain what I have, before it's to late.
I took the kids out in the bike trailer and OMG!!! it's killed me, I'm proper fluffed!
I'm thinking it's going to have to be a regular thing.
Do any of you guys/gals do much to keep in shape?

Used to go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week. Did that for years.
Gave it up a couple years ago, and have put on about half a stone. Slight belly and man-*****, but nothing to say I'm fat. 11 stone.
The only exercise I do now is a 25 min walk at lunch time (weather permitting) and I tell my lass, sex is the best form of exercise, so make me fit please.

Yes
Gym twice a week at least - weights mainly - have done so for a good few years now.
Walk about 10-15 miles a week.
MTB of road a lot. Did 20 miles last Sunday afternoon.
Oh, and I've got viscious killer dogs of extreme strength and unpredictable disposition which keep my strengh and reflexes finely honed

swim 3/4 hour a day.
Used to walk 10 miles a day.
The walking took the lbs off (2 stone).
The swimming is maintaining my Athletic build (or put another way I'm the same weight but less fat).

I climb indoor and outdoor 2-3 times a week.
Bike maybe once a week at the weekend but I may swap a climb day for a bike day through the week if the weather is decent.
When the snow lands I snowboard pretty much every sunday unless I can't physically make it through the snow to the hill!
Chin-ups on a bar and metolious rock rings whenever I walk past them (hanging above my living room door so I'm on them a lot lol!). Again when winter is here I also hop onto a vew-do board for core stability training to help with snowsports.

I've dipped in and out of fitness since I left the Army but started the gym properly a couple of months ago, I've never been good at running but just keep on plodding!
I started in the gym when I was in Oman in 2001 and would run 5 miles after work followed by an hour in the gym! Those days are long gone though, now I've started doing 40mins in the gym alternating between weights and cardio! Getting there slowly!! I'll build it up to an hour or so as I get used to it!!
I'm built for comfort, not speed!!

This is my weekly training plan - 12 miles a day on the bike, Jog 3/4 miles 3 times a week and fartlek (sprint/fitness wk) twice aweek. And gym 3 times aweek. high protein low carb diet eating 3/4 times a day with iso protein shakes one in morn 1 at night and amino tablets after wk out and creatine bout 20/30mins before work out. I also try and get some swimming in but the misses plays hell with what I do already.
Then rest over wkend and eat and drink like a machine

Used to play squash 6 times a week and tournaments at the weekends. Also was a professional Drummer so that helped.
Hurt my back now 5 years ago so gave up squash and retired from music. Put on over a stone and a half since then
Just started to play squash again a month ago but not at county level As long as it gets me moving then that's good.

It shouldn't take long for you to get fitter if you cycle. I did 17 miles last night hard cycling up and down hills which took just over an hour. I am not slim either!!!

I cycle commute between 75 and 100 miles a week. I really should do more and am adding more miles at the weekend (did a 100k last week, going to do the same run again before weekend when there's less wind than last time!)

lol I would say you do much better than the average Joe mate. Im happy with what I do lol. Used to do more but I have got lazy. Used to do up to 14-15 miles a day when walking the dogs morning and evening on my own. Now the missus helps in the evening.
Keeps the heart going, and other than footwear and lots of washing sweaty clothes its free lol
Fair play to those with a proper routine and who can fit in training. I cant these days, but still get out on the Spesh whenever I can and hit some dirt tracks.

I'm in my late 30's, run about 40 miles per week (over 6 days), cycle about 40 miles (over 5 days) and do circuits gym work between 3 to 5 times a week
Add that to a balanced diet of sausage, egg and chips plus a few apples (crushed, bottled and fermented) and I live a full and happy life. Plenty of guilty pleasures and no guilt

Cycle 100 odd miles a week, not sure I will keep that up over winter.
Do the odd 10 mile time trial.
Would like to do more motocross but seem to spend far more time recovering than competing.
Still a member of a gym, so cardio, light weights and swimming may be my winter regime.
2.5 years ago I was a fat slob who did very little!

Started in the gym again 5 months ago with 10 minutes interval training followed by weights 3 times a week, last 4 weeks been weight training 5 days a week with a bit of biking and bag training thrown in for cardio. Also play golf 3 times a week. I am still crap at golf though, driving range hit every ball dead straight get on a course and it all turns to ****.

Cycle 4 days a week. Average is about 90 miles a week, but going more at the moment, eg 60 miles on Saturdays on hilly/undultaing ground - training for next weeks 100 mile Pedal for Scotland charity event!

I gym 3-4 times a week. Take healthy eating seriously, such as high protein, low carb, plenty of fruit/veg, and loads of EFAs. I can easily get my bodyfat down to 13%, it was about 26% when I started the fitness lark.
I previously tried running/cycling first, but find the weights/healthy eating easier to maintain.
The biggest thing i've learnt is that the diet side of things is far more important than the exercise side if you're looking to get slimmer.

I walk the dog 2 miles twice a day and walk about as fast as I can without looking a t!t! (ie not power walking) so not just ambling about like I see so many dog walkers when i'm out. Always get back sweaty so must count as some sort of work out even if it's minor and better than when I was doing nothing.
I thought i'd be able to do more than 4 miles after a while but my legs (calf muscles) are knackered every night when I go to bed and ache as soon as I get up and take the dog straight out making them worse and so not getting used to it. I thought regular walking like that would become easier and you could go further after a while and not ache?
