low voltage or mains driven lights for front drive?
Had my drive done a few months ago and some armoured cabling was laid down for some lights. Nothing much, a couple of brick lights in the entrance and some spotlights in the planting borders.
The sparky says I can have either mains driven (says gives nicer light but consumes more juice and bulb life is less) or low voltage (less juice, longer life but will require waterproof tansformers so more initial cost)
Any suggestions which I should go for?
Thanks

If you've gone to the expense of having armoured cable (i.e. for mains) laid why go for anything other than mains powered lights. Low voltage lighting doesn't need armoured cabling, as you won't get much / if any sort of shock if you stick a spade through the cable.

Mains for me Deep, low voltage is good if your trying to keep overall costs down but as CD says you've went to the expense of the armoured cable so utilise it accordingly.
