Credit card query
I have a credit card but it only has a balance transfer on it [a 0% deal]
If I bought something eg; an item for £1000 and then paid the £1000 back a few days later, would the balance transfer amount remain as it was at 0% or would the £1000 I paid back, pay off the balance transer in stead, resulting in me paying a load of interest on the remainder?
Confused?.............

Check your small print and the order in which stuff is settled - it will be in there. I know cash advances usually come off first but it wouldn't surprise me if the balance transfer was next so you end up paying interest on the goods

Generally speaking if you have used a card for 0% transfers you shouldn't put anything else on it until the transferred amount has been cleared or the 0% time is up.

an ex girlfriend of mine wasa credit card fiend, she had loads of stuff on the card, including a balance transfer and when she used the card at a cash point it was the last thing to come off, like it was queued up, so paying interest on the cash advance while the other things where waiting to be payed off. if ur doing a balance transfer leave it at that.
