Default Cheap camping in the uk, where?

Looking at airing the tent and going camping next weekend for a few days with the wife and 2yr old. Can ayone recommend anywhere that is cheap and has decent facilities?

We did Betws Y Coed a few years back (before the baby was born) that was £1 per night with toilets/showers etc. Looking for something similar if it still exists Not too bothered about location (we are Manchester based) but pref Wales or the Lake District (hmmm nice driving roads )

Cheers
James

Most camp sites charge around £5 per tent per night.

Whats your budget, do you think you could stretch to around £1.75/night.

£1.75 is within budget

Dont mind paying a bit but some places were £23 per night for the same facilities as what I paid £1 per night for a few years back

£25 a night is normal for anywhere decent to be honest.

But, the C&CC do some excellent Temporary Holiday Sites for about £7 a night ... but you do need to take your own loo and wash in the bowl ..........

I would shudder to think what a £5 a night site was like ..............

wales is expensive at this time of year, we've stayed here a few times but I am betting its fully booked. http://www.tyncornel.co.uk/

This place is cheap and its close to Snowdon, however its on a hill and i'm betting this place is booked solid as well: http://www.campinginllanberis.com
