Default Pressure jet washer thingy

Need one of them pressure jet washer things. Had a quick flick in an Argos catalogue and they vary in price from £100-£300. I just need one to clean the drive and patio, anybody recommend one?

Thanks

I didn't intend to wash the car with it, but saying that I'm sure the place I get my car washed from uses one as well.

Anyway, when you say you get the drive professionally cleaned once a year what do they do that a power jet washer doesn't do?

Thanks

I have a Karsher but I can't remmeber the model number off hand.

Bought it to do the car with after reading what peeps used on Detailing world, and it works wonders. Also cleaned the neighbours drive and patio up an absolute treat with the jet head and scrubber head.

Cost about £120 from Hombease when they had a sale on.

In having the driveway powerhosed to remove all the green of my rumbled bricks, it removes all the sand from between the bricks. the guy who does my drive puts in a load of new sharp sand then seals the driveway with what i can only describe as a clear resin. takes 2 days. my driveway is about 120 sq m.

Ive found Karcher to be a very cheap build and very plasticky, both myself and the neighbour have one and both the diamond headed lances have packed up on ours. The motor on mine makes a horrible racket as well, the hoses need to be rubber instead of the cheap plastic that Karcher use on most of the household range.

My father bought a Karcher steam cleaner as well, thats very plasticky and feels cheap.

In my experience the Karcher`s are great when they work but things fall to bits too easily.

Thanks Rob

Jim, I'd really prefer to buy from a shop, the hassle of returning things over the internet (in case of problems) is just too much

One thing to consider is that if you live in a hard water area you may experience limescale build up on the pump head. If you have an aluminium head you can't really get rid of the limescale - any limescale cleaner you use will dissolve the pump head as well as the limescale.

If you can find an old small KEW washer it will be mint and last a lifetime. Oddly built buggers but bomb proof.

I used to repair them for a living

Think you can get them in the bigger stores, too. Got one for the other half for Christmas (he did ask for one )
It's a cracking little thing

Buy this and charge your mates for doing there car/driveway/house to cover the cost.

Not sure on part prices compared to other machines but these were pretty easy to work on.

I got a £100 job. Bright yellow but can't remember the name. Great for cleaning patio etc but watch it on paving stones because it can take the top finish off. Good for removing weeds between slabs but does take any loose mortar with it. Also used it to clean up old garden furniture before oiling or varnishing. dl
