Angry Aaargh! Optimax advert rant...

Had to get this off my chest. I hate adverts me, but I get a kind of perverse enjoyment out of hating them. Particularly bugging me ATM are laser eye surgery adverts in general and the Optimax one in particular....

Have the people on the ad never heard of opticians and glasses and been walking around blind for years? And, oh, the pathetic quotes:

"I'm seeing things for the first time....again." Eh? This makes no sense.

"We're gonna cause a lot more trouble together now." Eh? What, because two young ladies no longer wear glasses, they're going to do more stuff they shouldn't?

Recently there was one with some golfer, who obviously couldn't say it had improved his game, but tried very hard to imply that. ******.

And apparently it's easier to ride a push bike after laser eye surgery?? What a load of old ****.

Personally, I'd like to see them do a 3 for the price of 2 offer......

Aaaaaaargh.

Thank you for listening. I feel much better now.

You can get it for £400/eye, but that is the one that doesn't correct night vision and uses a blade to cut the flap in the cornea.

I have to say that having laser surgery was absolutely a great thing to do and although not 'tranforming' my life it certainly made a difference.

It depends where you go. I actually went with Optimax in the end and paid £2600 for both eyes and had the most expensive: Intralase Femtosecond Laser. Ultralase wanted £3500 for the same operation.

Optical express wanted less, but kicked out the power cable during the eye examination so didn't exactly fill me full of confidence.
