2 Middle East countries abot to ban Blackberry services

Another in a long list of reasons to steer well clear of most countries in the Middle-East, if the idea of risking several years in jail on completely trumped-up charges doesn't do much for you.
The UAE is the same place where a guy got 4 years for allegedly 'smuggling' a speck of cannabis on the sole of his shoes which was smaller than a grain of sugar:

So the real reason is that they want to snoop and they can't.
It's only because over here they don't need to snoop as the CIA can already listen in to all these messages

Sooo, you can't snoop on a 'berry's data?
Find that very hard to believe. I think we'd all be exceedingly naive to think that "they" cant read you data...... no matter where you are in the world.
Still, pretty amusing though - marginalise a business phone in one of THE biggest business areas in the world.....
