hi all

i'm after some help and perhaps a point in the right direction

i have both a iphone and a htc android phone (wife/myself)

currently the iphone is jailbroken and running installous via sydia for all the apps, which as anyone will know this is how you get them for free (not exactly legal i know)

my question, is something similar available for android ??

if so via pm could someone point me in the right direction as i want to try a few apps before purchasing them on the wifes phone

There are lots of apk files available for the android system on download sites, I have an android tablet and they just install straight on it but I'm unsure if a phone would need modded??? I can't see it needing to be modded as the tablet still uses a mobile android system.

As far as I know, if you do just want to 'try before you buy' I think you can buy an app from the market, try it, then return it if you don't want it and get your money back, but you can only do this once (per app).

AFAIK androids can be rooted (jailbroken)

Plenty of sites and communities on google if you go looking
