Default Mortgage advice

Hi

15% deposit. What is the best mortgage deal out there ?

I am looking around the usual places (moneysupermarket, moneyexpert etc), just wondering if any of the more financially astute amongst us would be able to point me in the direction of a good deal ?

Thanks

Depends where you are. Lots of local lenders have cracking deals. The biggies are generally **** at the minute. If you were in NI you could get 3.58, 10% deposit, free survey, no fees and no tie in. Yorkshire are usually in the running for any FTB, but get prepared for the paperwork.

http://www.britannia.co.uk/_site/cha...d-tracker.html

It's a low tracker for an 85% mortgage. But also has a cap for piece of mind if interest rates go silly over the next few years.

Thanks

I'll check them out, much appreciated.

One further question. My situation is that we are not technically FTB, we are renting our current house out and are going to purchase a new one.

One fo the questions that always crops up is : Are you a) FTB b) Remortgaging your current property c) moving home etc..

I am never sure what to answer ? I guess moving home would be correct, although how that differs from a FTB i dont know.

Thanks

You're (c)

You're not a FTB as you must have purchased the property you're proposing to rent out??

Thanks for some reason i keep thinking that FTB means you are not in a "chain".
