Permitted planning question
Hello again
Now then, I'm a little confused by the interpretation of permitted planning rules
1) You are allowed to build a second storey extension of 3m depth. Lets say I do this over an existing one storey part of the house This will obviously increase the roof space
2) You are also allowed to have a loft extension as long as you don't increase the roof space by more than 50m3.
Now if you did 1) first and then did 2) does the amount of roof space you would have added as a consequence of building 1) need to be subtracted from the 50m3 limit?
The rules below seem to imply that, but I'm not sure

Thanks

You can always run this sort of stuff past your local planning office. They're usually pretty helpful.
Our architect drew up some draft plans for ours, sent it to them to ask if it was okay under permitted development, they said yes. No cost to us

It used to be based on a % of your floor area, but seemed to change quite often, as suggested above try a local architect or planning officer. They will at least give you a good base to start with.
You also arn't allowed (or never used to be) to increase the height of the ridge, just be mindfull if you dont have alot of headroom in your loft before you start.
