Recommend me a Kitchen?
Hi,
I'm looking for a kitchen fully fitted but want to keep to a budget while still getting reasonable quality.
Can anyone recommend a company? there are far too many out there to choose from
Im in Essex if region is important

Yes - and its too fecking late to change it now
Try B & Q
I bought when they were having a pretty big sale, the Cooke & Lewis stuff is pretty good
However I've also had non Cooke & Lewis stuff and its also pretty good.
Big plus is they will also do everything for you from removal of old/elelctrics/plastering/install new

We have just had a new kitchen installed. Units came from Wickes DIY and their own installers. They had the type of finish we wanted and are very pleased with the units and the fitting service. Had a quote from the local Magnets, it was cheaper but the units were just not quite the right finish we had in mind.
Good luck !

I put my own in about 18 mths ago and I'm pretty skilled. Done a few over the years from different people. We used homebase and I was very impressed with the quality of all the kit. got a good deal on NEF appliances too. i.e double gas oven, hob, cooker hood. decent sink and taps. having said that, it was about £3500. but we have units running around 3 walls.
I gutted the kitchen back to brick, full replaster, new wiring circuits, lighting/sockets, plinth lighting, under cabinet lighting, new laminate flooring.
probably about £500 in bits doing that.
paid a friend mates rates to help with the worktops to joint them properly- quite hard as 4 w/tops needed joining and it has to be spot on.
I can't see someone purchasing and getting a kitchen installed for £4k, unless its minimal and no appliances.
it took me a solid 4 weeks of graft. 2 weeks off work, then 2 weeks of evenings and weekends. kitchens are the worst job in any area of a hse.
think Ikea kitchens are rubbish, but just a personal view.
