I am lost for words! Amazon
I bought a 50" plasma from Amazon near 2 months back...last night i noticed a small crack in the screen, which four lines comming off it near 1.5cm's each..
Not sure where the crack came from..as the tv is wall mounted..
Anyway..
Called Amazon, told them the TV's cracked, possibly from before and the crack may have got larger hence i possibly did not notice it...
Response: No problem sir, we will ship another one today and you have 30days to return the problem item to us..
I am so glad i did not but this from currys! you can only begin to imagine the service.
Great Service from Amazon.

Yes, we use them all the time, they have been beyond reproach in terms of customer service, order in confidence, if you have a problem or change your mind they just take it back.
A guy I know is fielding a competitor called Zutux, he used to be the CEO of Expansys until Peter Jones from Dragons Den bought it, if I buy anything from his website I can just nip it round to his house if it doesnt work

Yep, in my limited experience Amazon customer service has been faultless.
If something I'm buying, especially electrical, is within a few £ of the cheapest price I've found on Amazon then I'll buy it from them. Only if it's significantly more expensive (and it rarely is) will I shop elsewhere.

The last time I worked in RicherSounds I sold a girl a DVD player, everything was grand with it but months later on Christmas Eve, she arrived at my door asking (as you would if you were in a shop) did i have any HDMI cables as she needed one a PS3 that was an Xmas present!
I never did figure out how she got my address.

Screws for the mouting bracket could be too long and protruded too far inside the TV and bent/stressed the TV's chassis.
Not saying thats happened, but anyhoo, Amazon don't need to know that, and you don't want it to happen to the next TV, so worth checking.

My bracket came with two sets of bolts, i used the shorter ones - then realised that i could not quite get to all of the connections on the side/back + once scard caugh on the ***** rail (sounds more fun that a dado rail and pretty much the same thing), then used the longer bolts with the spacers also provided!

Yes, better buy from ANYWHERE but CURRYS/Dixons/PCWorld/Pixmania (all have the same Customer Service) ..... ie. truly awful!
You learn through life, and the only way these places are tested is when the chips are down and the Customer desperately needs support ...... CURRYS fail Customers again and again and again and again - quite why they are still in business is a mystery to me.
Glad Amazon is up there with John Lewis and Camp Hopson, Newbury.
I mention Camp Hopson, Newbury (a family run department store of the old school) because, last week, my Electric Recliner from them failed - 4 years after I bought it.
I e-mailed them saying I would have expected such an item to last longer than 4 years. They agreed with me and sent someone out to view the chair - I had already worked out what was wrong (a steel bar had snapped). The repairman had what he thought was the right part with him .... but it wasn't the right part.
The Company who made the Chair had gone bust so parts were not available (he had taken the part off a new recliner in the shop!). What did they do? Leave me in the lurch like the CURRYS Group of Companies would? Not likely!
They sourced a piece of steel, cut it and drilled it to suit the snapped piece ... they actually made me a new bar!! Came out and fixed the chair.
"All part of the Service, Sir!" ..... it's great to note that there are still pockets of outstanding service out there.
So, to Camp Hopson, Newbury ........ OUTSTANDING!
And, well done Amazon!

Using a le Creuset Dish I bought from Amazon in 08 last night. Was in the oven and split clean down the middle. I emailed them to explain\complain and they've refunded me the cash as they don't have the item in stock anymore. Cant say fairer than that.

Local Bike Shop (Rick Green in Handforth) , my rear light stopped working, took it in for a replacement, turned out to be a little corrosion on the terminals way inside, a quick scrape with a screwdriver and it was working perfectly, even put some new batteries in.
Thats why I go there, rather than binning it, they sorted it, no waste.

Amazon is always very good for me.
However, I would have to say that on the one time I've ever used PC World they did refund me on an item that didn't work without question. Didn't even open the box or any other shenannigans.
