Peak rail, Matlock and Rowsley.
If you were thinking of a visit, don't bother.
What a set of self-serving, unwelcoming people they are, to be sure.
THEY obviously have no need of OUR money, for THEIR toy, so keep your money in your pocket and let them play alone.
That's my advice for the day.

Been twice to photo shunters close up for modelling.
First time, denied access by a jobsworth volunteer.
When I got home, contacted management, who expressed concern that that sort of attitude would lead to lost revenue, (I'll try and make sure it does now), and did I want to contact the bloke at the HST to come again?
Duly did, but went today and was denied access again.
Shan't bother with them again, that's for sure.

Funny you should say this Jeff, because I had a small rant about them to my girlfriend, as I clattered over their f*cking level crossing in Churchtown this evening. If itd been Network Rail looking to re-open the line theyd have been told to f*ck-off, but these self serving bell-ends get all manner of help. Go to look at all of the provision made for them around Matlock station in Cawdor Quarry. When Sainsbury bought the land they had all new tracks and junctions put in, in order that they could remain connected to the branch line. Sainsbury should have told them to f*ck off then too.
Go to Wirksworth as James says, it was only five miles further away than the North Darley location youve already visited.
