I was proud of the fine English athlete until the end of the second set when the scott showed his true colours!!
He did well, tough competition, but he played well.

Sad that nationality even comes into this thread.
Time for scoobynet to grow up and get a grip.
I would vote for Scottish independence (right or wrongly) but until that happens (if it ever does), then I will continue to support all things British against all nations ie. USA, Algeria, Slovenia, Germany or Spanish Nadal.

Scott ? Are you a trekky fan ?
Andy was outplayed but i love how the english all support him & call him british until he gets beaten then they start the old scottish / scot thing. F*kin hypocrites.
Anyway ... how was the journey home ?

He has not won any Gland Slam titles.
Unfortunately hitting the net or missing the court when you've effectivily won the point will always make winning the big events difficult.

Completely unfair comment in the title.
He played his heart out with top class tennis, he never ever showed signs of giving up, was absolutely sporting right through, and cannot be blamed in any way.
He was beaten by the number one player and to run him down for that is mindlessly stupid.

Not only was he beat by the number 1, he was beat by one of the best tennis players of all time.
Unfortunately for him, he is playing in an era where his 2 biggest opponents will go down in history as some of the best players ever.

I quite like him, he's got an amount of attitude missing or deeply hidden in previous British players. It seems to spur him along to greater things. Long may it continue to do so.
He needs his serve to work though. His 1st serve percentage is 5-10 points off the best. He should be achieving 1st serves in the 60+% area, not the 50+% area.
