youtube is flv's... use the addon that RA Dunk recommended (he's a clever chap!). Unless the newer encodings are packaged as mp4. There are genuine converters out there but they're outweighed massively by spyware/adware/virus/trojan-tastic ****e.
Alternatively, you could use what I recommended in the other thread which records as an mp3...

You can convert the flv files to mp3. Realplayer have a program for it that will download and you can then convert the file to mp3. You can also find various programs from www.download.com
Of course this is illegal and the quality is never very good. Even if you convert to a 320KB/s mp3 file it wont be great as the original '.flv' file will have a very low quality.
I buy all my music from various websites such as www.beatport.com or other similar sites which is all legal. Being a DJ/(attempting)music producer, i like to support my industry.
I also use spotify Which is very good. For £10 a month you can play music offline, and on mobiles. I'd recommend.

Good for you. I believe stealing music is going out of fashion, people are over it now and realise that they can't listen to THAT much music anyhow. Streaming has been key in it's demise, along with a few court cases.

Same with stealing. You know you're a thief when you have the hot goods in your hands.
I do use iTunes, it's still easily the best all-in-one media manager there is and half the reason the iDevices are so great. Last bought Plan-B's album http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/the...nd/id354074512 Cracking.

I use AoA music converter:
http://www.aoamedia.com/audioextractor.htm
It allows you to extract audio tracks from AVI, MPEG, MPG, FLV (Flash Video), Youtube, DAT, WMV, MOV, MP4, 3GP video files and save them as MP3, WAV, iPhone Ringtone, WMA and AC3 formats.
There's a free trial download to get a feel, then after that it's $29.95

It wasn't used to avoid paying for published music via ripping YouTube vids, it was used to extract audio from videos of the gigs my band have played. I prefer CD to itunes as the quality of sound is much higher, so I'm not one for illegal downloads.

I looked into some of these crazy MP3 websites a while back, and i felt like i could not trust them so never bothered.
I have a 2GB mp3 player for the car and everything on that was ripped from the CD`s i own.
Mind you the missus has her own hard drive and last time i looked, she had about 6gig of mp3 files, no idea where she gets them all from, it is not the kind of stuff i listen to anyway, nor is it in any kind of sane order, so i dont really fancy digging through it to see what she has

First time in a cell for that little number. Oxford HMV used to be easy pickings. Before DVD, VHS tapes used to be a bugger to pinch. I once nicked Alien and then realised I nabbed the widescreen version so took it back and asked if I could change it - and they did.
Finally got pulled with Robocop and Robocop 2 double pack. I remember being frog marched upstairs and the store cop was actually pretty good with me - turns out we'd gone to the same school and had a mutual dislike to one of the Biology teachers. I was very young and had ****, rizla and a suspicous slither of cellophane that had to be dumped in the bins when no one was looking.
Taken to the station and my mother was called. She was at work and asked if they could keep me in a cell until she could pick me up - the scare will do him some good was her comment. Never forget when she arrived 5 hours later to pick me up - the shame was terrible. Last time I ever stole anything.
As for the topic, I tend to buy CDs as I can't play MP3s in the car.
