Default Wayne Rooney - are you for real??

The arrogance of the man after that "performance"!

I think the people who've paid out $hitloads for flights, hotels and game tickets quite frankly have the right to boo after that shower of $hite!

Arrogant to$$er

Something along the lines of "It's nice to see our own fans are booing us" in a very sarcastic manner and clearly unimpressed!

You all expect too much of him.
He has a particular skill in kicking a football.
He probably has very little insight into how people perceive his performance.
Interesting how David James who is clearly intelligent keeps his mouth shut.

Never booed a team going off, never will, and Ive had reason to over the years supporting Barnsley, England have far too much pressure on them every major tournment, far too much, the world cup is perfect for the smaller underdog country and no more are the days of the biggest footballing countries having it all their own way.

Algeria defended well and marked Rooney well, he had to go to the centre circle to get space a few times......

Completely agree.
This is the WC finals.
How much more difficult does it get?

Algeria. No wins in 7 games and 1 goal, a penalty.

It doesn't get any easier.

But there's no point in arguing - you're dealing with "patriotic" fans who can see no wrong with the national side's performance.

The harsh reality is that at this level, IF they want to win anything, they've got to want to play - something that all the players do (mostly) at club level.....for a great deal of money.

Shame that this performance is rarely replicated for their country. Which then begs the question - where's the effort and pride.

Something that is MOST evident in the other competitors (with exception of the French!! )

just my 2p - personally, I'm more upset about the fact I'm never going to get those 93 mins back.......

Theyre clearly not the best side in the world tho , and yet england expects

...Take any one of these players out of the their club side ( apart from Gerrard and James perhaps ) and unfortunatley they cant seem to communicate

Algeria did well to close them down and seemed more inspriing at times ,however maybe you need to play against a connected side to bring out the best in yourselves ,

Thats if they get past the next opponents

This time last week you past the group stages, past the semis and into the final and were winning it, however the reality is starting to look somewhat different.

Take it one game at a time and dont build you're hopes up too much, this way makes falling back to earth again alot easier to take

The only 2 people in our team that played a decent game tonight were James and Johnson. Barry had an okay game. Everyone else didn't deserve to win, or even draw. It was an abysmal game by us - Algeria played bloody well and were continually successful at winning ***** and defending.

Shocking, shocking performance and FC has full rights to go absolutely ****ing ballistic in the changing room at full time. I feel sorry for him TBH because it's always the manager that get the full brunt of the media's attack. He put out a decent side, has exemplary history, and the players just did not perform for him.

Rooney especially, just stood still and expected every ball to be fed to his feet without his having to to work or even move for a ball. Overpaid *******, the lot of them

Lets hope they continue their run of crap playing and come home. Dont deserve to be there.

Rooney can then get back to counting his £90,000 per week*

*We all know already about his £90,000 per week from Manchester United. Now add: £760,000 twice a year for image rights. £1m a year from Nike for advertising. £118,689 every six months from computer game makers EA Sports. £3.55m for twelve books (yes: that's books. Twelve of them). And a piddling £600,000 from Coca Cola for a four year deal. Source

he should have gave Crouch and Defoe more time on the pitch,Algeria played a lot better than their results suggested they would, but saying that the England players didnt perform yet again.

oi moron, did you see how they played - just because they are not ranked in the top ten of international football does not make it a nailed on win, ffs, this is what annoys me about f'kin armchair fans.

When a team packs the defence, can actually hold onto the ball and pass it (lesson for England there) what are you supposed to do?

Are you saying then that the other teams don't have any pressure on them? Isn't it a part of playing amongst the best in the world that you have to overcome any pressure and just get on with it, playing at your best capabilities, isn't it the same for everyone?

The real fact is that despite all the special treatment, the obscene money they are paid, everything laid down for them hand and foot, they still can't get their brains around the fact that they are expected to play up to the standard expected and produce any meaningful results so far!

The most annoying and worrying thing is how easy we passed the ball away, Algeria in retrospect kept possession better and looked very at ease on the ball, they can play tbh but lack a killer finish like England.

Capello must see we need a left sided player erm actually playing on the left....

Time to dump Heskey, I gave him a chance but everytime he held the ball up it bounced off his shins back to algeria, Everyone marking Rooney tight after season he's had, no space, room, having to drop deep to even get the ball.

England look like a team who are nervous and under immense pressure to do well, unless he tries a different approach then Slovenia will be rubbing their hands at playing this shower of 5hite IMO.

time for a toal plan change form the manager, but i dint think he can step up to the mark, we defending well, but nothing else, all we needto do is to score one goal , hopefully then the boys will relax into it and play well again, prob is now we need to win the next game or we are fooked

Im saying this team seems incapable of playing under this amount of pressure yes.....look at the football, nervous, twitchy, rushed passes, long ***** after not being able to break through, all the signs IMO.

When you have 30,000 fans watching you 6k miles from home it does tend to heap pressure on these players instead of inspiring them it seems...?

Aso, few things, the premier league is one of the worlds most popular, most watched, everyone knows the players, so this gets them billed up if they have good seasons, the money is obscene I agree, however because its a football league watched the world over, this is the advantages it brings. Catch 22, big money, big expectations......

The thing is, argentine and brazilain leagues go under the radar, as do others, because they arn't in the worlds eye it brings less pressure to do well in these big tournaments becasue no-one knows the fuggers.

OK so we didn't win and we're all bitterly disappointed but I think what most people are annoyed with is the fact that England were so sloppy and lacklustre last night which is why Algeria looked good. The only person who really looked up for it was James and he handled the ball really well and looked the most confident I ever seen him whilst in an England jersey.

As for Rooney spitting his dummy out after the match IMHO he has no right whatsoever to complain at the booing boys because he didn't put any effort into his performance. He has to understand that travelling fans have worked hard and paid thousands to get to SA and watch the team, and the least they (and anyone else for that matter) expect in return is for the team to show some grit and determination. There was none of that last night. Had England shown some effort I would be able to sympathise with Rooney but as far as I am concerned he was bang out of order and showed no respect for the effort those fans put into getting there - effort which has far surpassed the England team in the World Cup campaign.

I also read this morning that a fan entered the England dressing room last night to give them some verbal:
