Default Barbecue inside the house?

Its 35 degrees outside (Turkey) and I'm stuck inside with two sick kids and rubbish books so my mind is wandering!.......

I love flame grilled/cooked food including tandoor cooked food.
I'm probably going to build an extension this year which will include a fair sized utility room.
Is there any reason I couldn't have a barbecue and tandoor in there as long as I fit really good extractors?

There's a pub in West Bromwich called The Vine, it's owned / run by a load of Asian chaps and as well as beer does the full Indian restaurant menu and has this massive indoor BBQ where they cook loads of spicy skewers, some mega hot Mmmm salivating just thinking about it now.

Anyway I digress, they do have the BBQ indoors, with some massive extractors, and it's still well warm in that bit of the pub. The guys that work it must be immune to the heat it kicks out So it is possible.

A big funnel shaped chimney over the top would probably sort the job.

We have a few of these in our roof as we live in the top floor apartment....

And I have been known to open them up and slide an old table over and whack a disposable BBQ on there! No smoke as it goes straight out, brilliant!

Thanks. I wonder if a passive chimney would do the trick as the amount of smoke kicked out (especially if charcoal based) could be huge?

I'll have to find out how much these industrial strength extractors cost and whether they require any sort of council approval.

Alloy, there is a big difference between a barbecue or tandoor and a george foreman grill!

I am pretty sure there is a member of this board has barbecued the odd steak simply using his living room fireplace! I thought he was bonkers but he told me that it worked well.
