Guardian goes for LibDems .... shock!

The Guardian newspaper has announced it is supporting the Liberal Democrats in the General Election.
In an editorial entitled The Liberal Moment Has Come The Guardian said if it had a vote it would vote "enthusiastically" for Nick Clegg's party.
But the article complains that "under our discredited electoral system" people who feel the same may feel they have to vote tactically.
The normally Labour-supporting paper's change of allegiance comes after a third poorly-received leaders' debate performance from Gordon Brown.
But, despite Labour's poor ratings in the election polls Mr Brown said he would not give up.
"The time for debates is finished, the time for decision has begun," he said.
"We will continue to fight for the future of this country until the very last second of this election campaign." ...."
I am in shock indeed ......

If you've been reading the editorials or listening to the podcasts over the last month or so it wouldn't be much of shock - it's like their political messiah has just turned up! Only Michael White seems to have retained some perspective...
