tyre recommendations please
the boots on my volvo are 205/50 R17W and I was wondering what you all recommend for long lasting, low noise at high speed, good wet grip tyres?
I tend to drive like a cissy on normal roads, but I like to keep pace on the motorways (I do 500 miles every other weekend).
recommendations please? also, should I consider run-flats? are they noisy?

Was never a fan of Bridgestone tyres. Had RE070's on my Impreza that were truely awful. Swapped the for Michelin PS2's and what a difference.
However I have Bridgestone RE050's on my 370Z, and think they are pretty damn good.

They are a stunning tyre, adding over 30mph to my cornering speeds in the dry. Yes, they tramline badly, give a very harsh ride, and are borderline dangerous in the wet, but for extreme dry weather driving they are astounding.

Yup. That's I changed them. Plus, on standard suspension, I didn't think much to them either, but once I had the Prodrive spring kit fitted they did seem to work better. But for everyday use, both wet or dry, the PS2's were exceptional.
Where half throttle acceleration on the Bridgestones would get the thing sideways, full bore acceleration in the wet on the Michelins, would get full grip and acceleration.

I was always stunned that i got 26k with life left (sold the car) out of Toyo T1-R's. The car btw was a Classic Scoob running 313/300. I've used them ever since.
