Thumbs up I was very pleased to hear.......

That the teacher who had lost it has been cleared of the serious charges and would only be subject to communal work punishment.

It's those kids that should be locked up.

Fully agreed. Now that the facts are coming out it's no surprise he did what he did. Hopefully the little ****** he clobbered has learnt his lesson.

So he gets a community punishment, but his career is over, and his livelihood is lost. Maybe his pension too, if the GTC get involved Which they will.

Meanwhile, if I know kids these days, they will start some sort of campaign against him...............

Meanwhile, if I know parents these days, they will start some sort of campaign against him.
EFA

I can imagine a parental protest outside their "Little-angle baby-sitting centre" if they found out that he started teaching at their school. With their cries of "somebody please think of the children". albeit with a heavy local dialect and some extra expletives for good measure.

TBH Leslie, he may have taught the whole place a valuable lesson.... I got yet another "child protection policy" tome this week, roll it up and selotape it into a baton ?

We lose, on average, one member of staff per term due to "pupil behaviour", although I blame the lack of support by the senior staff for young staff coming in.

I am not surprised at what you are saying dunx, it must be really upsetting when you are trying your best to teach the children only to have some who only want to get at you by showing maximum lack of respect and disrupting the class. They know you can't do anything worthwhile to punish them and you are also likely to get shouted at by their parents!

Interesting that those who are supporting the lad concerned are unable to give us an answer to the problem.
