Been there and it's an eye opener. Amazing holiday best service I've ever had on any holiday around the world.
I went during the political elections and couldn't believe how cheap the holiday was.
Turn a blind eye to the bodyguard with the rifle walking behind you on the beach and you'll thoroughly enjoy yourself.

Sounds nice: http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-...-africa/kenya1
Does sound like you're okay though if you stay within the touristy type areas.

Went to Nairobi on duty a few times. Lovely soft climate and an interesting place, but blokes who were found dead on the street being wrapped in cellophane bags awaiting pickup was a bit of a put off!

there is an amazing restaurant called the tamarind, overlooks the bay and is so romantic, mind you it's about 20 years since I went there, but it was so beautiful and if the website is to be believed it still looks fab it's in mombassa, by the way

Seeing the reviews I think I'd rather spend a little more and go somewhere else.
