I'm stuck in Lerwick in the Shetland Isles.
I should have flown home this afternoon but it will be Saturday now. Ah well, there could be worse places....

I'm currently in Silicon Valley, one colleague is due from the UK on Sunday which is looking unlikely, another is due to fly back to the UK Tuesday and is a bit worried about being stuck here, I'm due back to the UK Friday 23rd and would not be a bit worried about being marooned - temps around 70F and very nice weather here at the mo!

There is something positive to come out of all the planes being grounded, Eddie Jordan hasn't been able to get out to the Shanghai for the F1 race so we're saved from his utter drivel and sweaty shirts!

I've given up waiting for the airspace to open after dashed hopes this morning. So, a 14hour ferry crossing for me tonight and then a 6.5 hr train journey. At least that leg is 1st class

I'm due to go to San Francisco tomorrow (Sunday) morning and that is looking increasingly unlikely as BA have just cancelled all their short-haul flights for Sunday.
Edit: And it has just been cancelled ....

And it's been a very nice day out here today, spent the afternoon on Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39. Loads of scoobs on the streets also - particularly wagons - must have spotted about a dozen today

Most of the ferries to northern england are full, they will have much better luck in Calais/Boulogne or further west in France. The Ferries to Hull are aparently also fully booked.

Was meant to be arriving in Atlanta now, sat at home, Dog on lap thinking about getting ready for work in the morning, no idea when I will end up going.
Notice the airlines are up there seeing if they can fly without crashing.
