Pal (age 44) died :(
Still reeling from the news.
Terry was a keen runner - hardly drank a drop of alcohol, never smoked.
He went out for a run yesterday morning on his day off from work.
Del (wife) found him in the back garden.
Apparently had a heart attack
PM on Tuesday.
He was 44 for ***** sake!
We lost touch about 5 years ago when work took us in different directions. I just wish I had made more of an effort to keep in touch.
It's too late for me now with Terry - I'll try to make more time for friends and family in favour of work going forward.
Think on....

That is scary! 44, I think you are right. We take this life of ours for granted, and don't pay enough attention to the things that really matter most. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Sad news
It doesnt mean that you will go the same way, just because you dont drink or smoke doesnt mean you dont have high colesterol or have a history of heart disease in your family.
The best way to protect yourself is to get regular checkups (1 per year), considering what I eat and I do like the odd pint of real ale now and again, my last colesterol check was 2.55 and that was done at work with the people who come round, blood pressure was 124/70 (but i was working with a numpty which was stressing me out, should be 110/70 which hasnt changed in the last 25 years or is it the other way around ) though I could do with losing a couple of lbs, but these things happen when you get into your 30's let alone your 40's.
Just get regular checkups, its the only way of really knowing how well your doing

Life is so short ... some people take it all too seriously, there are a few on here!
Every day you wake is a new chance to make the day great!
Get in touch with the old friends, put aside the old family disputes .... we are all dead for a very long time - all we have is around 80 years to do something, sometimes much less!

That's such a shame, 44 is young these days.
I'm grateful that I'm forced to have regular check-ups due to being a ( part-time ) professional driver...
Time to reflect on how lucky we are.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

I know very well how you feel. Sorry about his death.
I lost my very good fishing mate last year from the same type of cancer that I had. I could not bring myself to go fishing any more and the boat is out of the water and up for sale now!

A friend of mine had a heart attack this time last week, she passed away yesterday after 6 days she was only 49, the outcome wasnt good, she was unconcious for most of the time, looks as though she had severe brain damage as she was out for 20 mins before being revived, she will be sorely missed by all who knew her

We (wife and I) lost two very close friends who were in their late 30s (cancer and sudden illness) together with both wife's parents, over a two year period starting about 5years ago. Wife's parents weren't that old either, both under 65.
the loss of 4 people you care about makes you realise how short life is, and that you need to enjoy it while you can.
As a result we changed our work/life balance very much in favour of life
