Default Can you take scratches out of glass?

Being an absolute dick that I am, I scratched the front of my fish tank from one side to the other. It is a very very fine scratch, ie. can't feel it with my finger nail.

Any chance i could remove it?

Decent glass polish would do it with some elbow grease or a polisher I'm sure mate.

Unfortunately no, its got a curved front to match the stand. I'll get my hands on some glass polish tomorrow and give it a blast.

Dont use toothpaste ,its to abrasive. Get some jewellers rouge, that will do it no problem.

Hard work though, i bought some of the rouge stuff and i was unable to do much by hand, best of using a small polisher IMO

You will probably end up with a distorted line though as the light reflects through the low spot.

Yes Jeweller's rouge is probably best to get a good finish. It will be graft though.

If its an expensive fish tank have you thought about taking the glass panel out and taking it to your local glass shop as they would evenly polish it out for a few quid, that obviously depends on whether the glass is not bonded into the fish tank.

It depends really, if your watch face has a crystal face then your going to struggle to remove any scratches. If its a normal glass face or the perspex type plastic faces then you should be able to remove them.

James - Give Jody or Michael a shout at Grosvenor tropicals in Lisburn , they may be able to help. Michael makes tanks, i'm sure he can advise you on how to tackle it.
