You know them crows?
That always stand in the road and lazily flap away?
You never manage to get near one of them do you? I bleeding hate them. Cocky buggers the lot of them.
I have to admit to harbouring a deep seated desire to smack one the damn' things for some time
Well, today I was coming down the A6 spur off the A50, doing about 70 and there's one of them, in the road chomping on something dead. I'm not budging and the bloody bird is still chomping away...
As per usual it waits until the last minute, and starts to lazily flap away... git.
Only this time.
Too late pal.
SMACK.
It descibed the most amazing back flip. Well some bits did. The rest kind of... well.. sprayed a bit. Glanced in the rear view mirror and it's there, twitching by the armco
Is it a bad thing that I felt good about getting one of the little sods at long last?
(oh, and the car was completely unharmed )

We get them hanging around our back garden. We have always called them motorway crows. Our big wimp of a cat hides under a chair even when he sees them through the window!
They are very clever thieves, always manage to get a fat ball out of the bird feeder and disappear with it! Can't blame them really, it is food after all.

Why would anyone want to harm one? They do NO harm to humans, and a DAMN good job of clearing up roadkill. I always hoot at them if I don't think they will move.
PLUS: if you hit one wrong, bye bye grille, or bumper, or headlight, or splitter, etc etc. They are BIG b*ggers.

My dog Sam (R.I.P.) caught a young'un when he was a pup....
he jumped about four feet into the air and caught the bugger as it tried to take off.
Should have seen the parents dive bombing him.
Funny at the time, no harm done.
dunx
P.S. I'd rather avoid hitting one if it's all the same to you....

I will always avoid something, as long as it doesnt involve doing something that would cause me to crash, a cyclist I would be worrying about the Karmic implications of greasing a Crow.

I had to read twice as the first time I read COW - I thought, brave man trying to run down a cow in the road.
Personally, I try to avoid them, I even miss the seagulls when I can. Must be getting soft in my old age!

family have a holiday house in the french Alps, near Annecy.
Lots of buzzards about.
You'd get one crow almost baiting them and when one of them went after it, it would whizz off round the corner of the house followed by the buzzard, which moments later would do a cartoon-style stop in mid air, and run away followed by about 20 of the buggers that were waiting to ambush it.
Always makes me laugh!

The last thing I would want to do is to run any creature down. Always try to miss them if it is safe to do so.
You can't blame an animal for looking for food. They also have a right to life.

Used to shoot em.
In Resident Evil.
Don't try to hit anything if I can help it.
Pheasants, on the other hand, are just stupid *****. (taste quite nice though - need to wash the engine oil off first though!! )
