James Corden on Sports Relief
Brilliant
Dame Kelly Holmes, what do you need a medal for you just run round in circles
Steve Redgrave, you just paddle around in a boat. I did that on the boating lake with my brother

In perspective though, how good have we got life in comparison, the fact that we can read this thread on the Internet is a pretty big thing when you think about it.
Wanting to punch my neighbours face in because he cut my boundary hedge without asking, is probably the worst thing going for me at the moment.
Have I just put a right downer on this thread?>......

Flipping heck - that singing was very good!
Seeing Daley Tompson reminds me of the story Chris Moyles told about him and meeting Frank Bruno.

It is a booming economy here in Bangalore, as it is in many cities. But as a country with over 1.1billion people, there are over 35% that live below the calorific poverty line - that is go to bed hungry every night.
There are so many reasons it is scary.
However some of the best solutions in India are based around microfinance where projects like Comic Relief fund local co-operatives to lend money to local farmers to buy seed, or local business to by stock or fabric etc.
These projects make a massive difference on the ground.
On the positive side, India has over a million farms with an average acreage of 3 acres. But a productivity higher than the most intensive farming in the USA. Get these all functioning well and this is a country that can feed itself.

Easy to dislike someone who is popular but I thought his acceptance speech was terrific. Very funny indeed. I wonder if he warned the VIPs that he was going to take the p,iss? Even saw Capello smiling which is a rare event!!
Even Russel Brandt who I normally detest came over as a caring human being without showing off - must have been hard for him
Please post a link if/when his speech makes it to You Tube.

As in all comedy it's all about........ timing. Seeing it in black and white doesn't really do it justice.
There was one bit when he told the audience, while speaking to Freddie Flintoff that "you don't give up on your country, your country gives up on you..." That was a bit close to the mark

Not a massive fan of him (other than when he plays Smithy) but found his efforts hugely funny last night and agree that the acceptance speech was true comedy gold. The fact that I was laughing out loud to someone who I'm not a huge fan of speaks volumes as to just how good it was

I thought the whole speech was close to the bone and I am pretty sure more than one sportsperson would have left Sheffield with more to reflect on that a good laugh.
It was funny and I think watching the 'making of' made it seem much more of an achievement and actually made Corden seem less arrogant than he normally comes across. Especially on the diving board where he was clearly genuinely terrified.

yeah, memories not what it used to be
I just thought that saying that to Freddie Flintoff who in my eyes is a hero was a bit brave
Mind you in the run up he was floating on a pedaloe drinking a pint with him
