Default Is this legal ? Cunning selling tactics at Tesco.

My mum went to tesco earlier today. She did the shopping and needed some folders for work.
The folders were marked up as 69p each or 2 for £2.50!
Is this allowed? Makes me wonder how many other "special offers" are out there like this.

Lots of this all the time, not just Tesco, the big 3 or 4 are real good at this.

It pays to have your wits about you when comparing/pricing up, i have nearly been caught out before, maybe well have been but not realised...

1 yes the can do it, and 2 Its probably just an oversight, im sure its not intended on diddling the punters.

If you did buy two then keep the receipt and take them back with proof of purchase and im sure they will refund you the difference or refund you fully so you can buy one at a time at 69p

I bought some shave gel on offer the other day. should have been 1.60 or so. Went through at near £4. Luckily I spotted it but most of the time you're too busy packing to check.

Why would you want a camera on a phone? Never, in the history of me making telephone calls, have I ever stopped and thought, "I wish my phone was a camera as well" That's just mental .... I have cameras which do that kind of thing!?

What will you lot think of next!

Tesco's were on watch dog last year for this sort of thing and they claimed it was a one off mistake looks like a regular policy.

Loads of mistakes like this are made, whether it's genuine or not is a different question. I'm sure loads of these people dealing with offers (paid quite nicely) are probably quite stupid themselves, but it's always the 'little people' that have to deal with the backlash. Either that, or it's a way of keeping some people in a job, rectifying those 'mistakes'. As much has been said at my work, but the problems we face most aren't multi-buy offers.

We did have one strange complaint not so long ago though. We had a multi-buy on Radox products. Most of the stuff was priced around the £1.30 mark, and the offer was 2 for £1.57. Anyhow, one of the products on this offer was priced at £1.64, but the same offer applied, meaning she would get 2 for less than the price of one. Not a mistake as such, it was just the offer was on all Radox products and one happened to be priced higher than the offer price.

She wanted the product, but argued the toss about the offer being wrong etc. and how it was ridiculous having 2 products being less than buying one. FFS, she was getting 2 for less than she'd pay for one.
Despite trying to explain how the promotion worked she still complained about it for a good ten minutes.

But the label is referring to two different things.

Bacon is one price and ANY TWO meat products are £5. This might include a leg of lamb and a turkey for all you know

another trick they do is list the 2 for 1 offer on a slightly different product e.g. where i got stung - boisin herbs 2 x 2.50 and above they put boisin herbs and spices, so you buy 2 and end up paying 4 quid or what ever they are

Yea but if you buy TWO bacons you might get charged £5 when it should be £3.74 so theoretically you could of been robbed £1.26. Of course Tescos would deny this ever happens, but who religiously checks their receipts afterwards? I certainly don't.
