Just a cold? Or something else?
Came back from Stoke on sunday feeling fine, but that night I slep terribly: I couldn't stop swallowing, and clearing my throat, and when I did finally fall into a doze, awoke myself each time choking on mucus.
This seems to have got worse, now I have a royal headache to go with it.
Should I stick to Lemsip etc, or see a doc?

To be fair you probably just have a bad cold.
I picked up a cold from a client Monday of last week - sore throat, headache etc. Thought I was getting better but last night and today I've felt rubbish - can you catch another cold while you already have one?
I gave my cold to my mother and (for the first time in 10 years) I've given my wife a cold too (we never catch each others). Wife has been really bad and she was talking of going to the docs too. But, at the end of the day its still just a bad cold and there is no cure.
Only you can decide if you need to see a doctor but you'll probably live if you don't

I picked up something about 6 weeks back, had the feaver, compleatly drained of energy, typical cold type stuff, although i never get a cold so i suspected it was something nasty.
The missus "its just a cold you poof"
I battled through and went to work to try and flush it from my system (i hate sitting around feeling sorry for myself)
Got over the typical symptoms straight away but my lungs were terrible, felt like asthma?
Terrible wheezing, it almost made me want to go to the docs to get an inhaler (used to suffer as a child) 6 weeks on its getting better, no real symptons apart from i am still coughing up phlegm now and again, 6 weeks later.
The missus caught it with the same initial symptons within a few days and like me is still coughing up crap.
Suspect it was more of a chest infection then anything else, feels like the body is purging the crap from the system, but its taking ages.

There's a lot about mate.
I returned from snowboarding in Austria last Sat. Apart from the aches from a mad week all was fine until I boarded the plane. I became very hot and sat in my T-shirt all the way back. My mates were content in their jumpers... Plane had no a/c nozzles so nothing there for me to manually adjust.
Got home, felt ok until later on in the evening. I've been tired and achy ever since. Sat and Sun night were worst. Both nights I awoke soaked in sweat. Subsequently have been sleeping on a towel ever since to prevent us changing sheets every day.
Starting to feel better now but I don't have much energy at all. I don't know if that's the shock of going from days of full-on exercise to hardly any, or just from the illness.
Need my gym next week!
Get well soon whatever you have.
