A motoring question about wheels!
My front tyres need replaced which if i'm honest I canny afford to do at this fiscally challenging time of the month. At the mo i have 16" alloys on the car but i have a set of 18" alloys with good rubber on 2 of the rims. Could I put my good rear 16"s on the front and my 18" alloys on the rear or would I get pulled quicker than a quick thing?
I think I already know the answer but if you don't ask and all that....

TBH, I can't see it being a problem. It depends if you like the hot-rod look.
If I pulled you over and the rubber was legal, I'd send you on your way.
Then laugh myself silly at the thought of a Alfa hot-rod.

Question is irrelevant, Your Alfa will either not start or break down on the driveway and not make it onto the public highway anyway
In answer to your question, it should be fine, mixing different diameters/heights on the same 'axle' is a no, no but 16's on front and 18's rear is fine . Might be more fun to put the bigger two wheels/tyress on just one side, perhaps the side where the suspension is rusted through and collapsed, it might even it up

As Paul said, there is no law against fitting different size rims front and back as long as the wheels on exch axle are not mixed.
I have run wheels like that many times in the past and passed MOT's like it too. As you say, best to put the larger wheels on the rear axle.

Depending on the tyre profiles, you may find that there is little difference in actual rolling radius between the two types anyway.
Something to watch for though is that if there is a reasonable difference in size, the smaller wheels will be turning faster than the larger ones which might upset the ABS or TC systems and throw up warning lights.
