The sneaky ****ers still haven't deducted the 2p rise when VAT was decreased to 15%, now that VAT is at it's normal rate, the 2p increase is still there.

Petition to: Fuel duty reduction, now VAT has increased to 17.5%, please deduct the duty which was levied when vat was reduced to 15%. | Number10.gov.uk

It's got a long way to rise yet.

If the global economy kicks off, £1.50 a litre is a real possibility.

Why has petrol increased by 2p a litre since last week when the wholesale price of oil has decreased?

Because it can?

Because the petrol companies don't make any profit selling petrol? Allegedly.

Because every time it goes up, so does the VAT take on it and HMG are desperate for money so look the other way, while holding out their hands for the extra tax.

We are fooked.
