The Gadget Show - Is it time it was axed ?
I'm getting stalled of seeing Suzi Perry, Jason Bradbury and Ortis Deeley fooling about and not really drawing any worthwhile conclusions about anything, and only really watch for the 5 minutes John Bentley actually reviews and compares products properly, giving some tech specs, and subjecting them to some real tests with justified outcomes. Apart from that, I just look to see how short Suzi's skirt is and then doze off. Is it going the same way as Top Gear, a fate which killed Fifth Gear, and Driven before it, where the quest to seek fresh and fun ways to review things actually ruins the core principles of the show as it descends into ever-more silly stunts and challenges instead of giving opinion, information and quality journalism ?

I find their competition prizes bizzare, like £20k of stuff and then a question of what was the colour of rudolphs nose, suppose they need the phone revenue to pay for all those prizes

I hate the competition part. Takes up too much of the show, very tedious to listen to. Even if you won, you could never use all of those gadgets. Just imagine all the crap turning up on your doorstep (OK, some of it would be nice). Its just a nice way to make extra cash for them, at the expense nice content for the program.
Going downhill atm, need to get back to their roots.

Now I love gadgets but have had to stop watching it because the 'wacky TV presenter oh we're so funny and right on' behaviour was making me so angry that I was in danger of hurling my copy of 'Stuff' magazine and the coffee table on which it resides through the plasma. I tried Sky plussing it and just watching the reviews but it was too much hard work filtering out the **** factor. So now I don't watch it at all.
The only thing about Ms Perry I admire is her great legs and her love of botox That baldy bloke doesn't do it for me sadly, he's too ******
Stop arsing around and just show us the bloody gadgets Actually, I think I might write a letter to Ch4...

I quite enjoy watching it on entertainment value; does get very tedious with its American production style aimed at people with short term memory loss. Sky+/V+ plus it so you can fast forward the constant competetion and lengthy padding before/after the adverts makes much more watchable (i.e I don't need to be reminded of "whats comming up after the break ), plus it saves half an hour of your life .
Although, anyone who buys a product based purely on their reviews needs their head looking at. It is the most commercialised program on TV at the moment. By that I mean the producers are payed by the UK supplier/manufacturer to give a certain product the thumbs up over the competition. As such the reviews are not impartial, and should not be used as a decing factor. Stuff magazine is the same (as well as many other mags). Of course there is no harm in using it to see what products are out there, but don't let it cloud any personal judgement or opinion of a product. Buy it because you think its good, not because some TV presenter said so.

The Gadget Show, like so much TV these days is padding, padding, padding and very little content. That thing where they say "...and coming up after the break..." does my head in But I still admire Suzi's botox

Suzy has Bottox? sorry my eyes dont get above her waist i am a sucker for a women with nice legs on show
The only other bit worth watching is the sections by John Bentley and i think he is getting p*ssed off by the current style as in the recent challange about using Tech to evade "special forces" (looked like the local nighclub door men) he was so fed up he just got a taxi to the local pub and had a meal
I also get fed up with getting radio 1 DJ's to review equipment on sound quality, they obviously dont have a clue what they are talking about why not get some body who does for example they never mention how compressed MP3 is so losing a lot of the sound quality

Everyone is spending a fortune on home cinema set ups for the best possible sound quality and then most of them listen to music on an iPod or the likes

Should be another option on Poll
They need to relaunch the show with John Bentley and a couple of other proper presenters and Suzi wearing shorter skirts doing accurate unbiased reviews.

f1 fan sound quality is a dying cause
Most of the 20 year olds know nothing but MP3 or poor quality cheap stereo systems and they are only interested in how much bass and how loud, if you ask them about sound stage they dont know what your talking about.

My eldest has just taken over my old system, at 23, a Technics pre-power amp setup, plus a pair of Mission Argonaut speakers. Doesn't have a decent CD player, but plays minidiscs off a half decent one, plus..........MP3's
When I was his age I could give you chapter and verse on which turntable and cartridge gave the best sound, and why.

I'm so old even Suzi's legs don't do it every week.... just most of them

Exactly. I just want to see what gadgets are out there and what their functions are. I'm perfectly capable of making my own mind up about which product is right for me despite what I might be told by some journo on a bung

To be fair, they must struggle to come up with decent content every week as new and exciting gadgets worth having don't exactly come out every week.
Otis is a much more entertaining presenter than Dallas was.
I'm disappointed when the after the opening titles have finished and the camera pans out and Suzy has just got trousers on rather than a large belt and heels

It's the same if Emma Crosby hasn't got the legs out on the GMTV sofa, or Kate Silverton on the Beeb, or any of the hot weather-girls, or let's face it, any female on any TV program. Christine Bleakley, Claudia Wrinklybum, Rachel Riley, Jameela Jamil, Keeley Donovan, Susanna Reid, the list is endless.

I don't think its just the Gadget Show or TopGear for that matter, its just TV in general is much much ****ter now we have 100's of channels and access to the internet. Quantity over substance.
I miss the days when I waited all week to watch Movies, Games and Videos to see what the latest game footage was like or what decent films were out to rent on VHS. Why would i bother watching a programme like this anymore when i can find most of the information at my leisure on the net.
