'Fake policemen' steal man's car
A man's car was stolen when he pulled over for an unmarked vehicle which had activated a flashing blue light.
The victim was driving his Vauxhall Astra on the A339 at Bishop's Green on the Hampshire/Berkshire border.
He noticed another car follow him into Eagle Road when a blue light on the front window starting flashing.
The 21-year-old man stopped and got out, only for two masked men to exit the other car and steal the Astra. Both cars were driven off on Thursday night.
The first man was stocky and about 5ft 11ins. The second man was slightly taller.
Be Careful!!!!

Some mates and I once dressed up as Plod to frighten the life out of a guy we knew who was daring a drive out 20 minutes before the end of his driving ban. W*rked a treat, he had brown trousers and we laughed until we cried and hurt
I suppose the lesson here is to stay in your car with locked doors and if in doubt, drive off and straight to a Police station.

Plus real police will give you an instruction to turn off your engine before they ask you to get out of the car.

It is a bit of a worry. I think you have to lock the doors in the first place and as far as I know you are entitled to ask to see the copper's warrant card. Thats what I did once when stopped and the copper was quite happy to show the card to me.

this is 100% correct and the police have to allow this i know this as my company drivers have a sign they hold to the window asking the car to follow them to the nearest police station incase of police enpersonation. anyone can do this, also if you are tugged by the police or other you do not have to get out of your veh until you have phoned the police and checked that the veh and their identities are valid or you can request a marked police veh to be dispatched for your own safety.

I presume that the police have to be in uniform (in order to direct traffic) so the fact that they were wearing balaclavas might have given things away

If it becomes a regular occurrence then it may lead to a change in policy about undercover operations. The Plod have got way too keen in hiding their presence to entrap unsuspecting folk, so if it leads to them having to return to liveried vehicles apart from serious covert investigating duties then it may be a good thing.

LOL @ driving to a police station, you would never make it after they called the chopper out, pitstopped you and dragged out via the sunroof for 'failure to stop'
