Default How much did you spend on petrol 08/09?

Just been adding up my petrol receipts for tax return purposes. I only live about 5 miles from my places of work and spent £2437!

About £500 in my car, I live seven miles away and cycle there most of the time, only did 2500 miles.

I spent at least a grand on cycling stuff, probably more but thats bought now, on the cyclescheme, so saved 40% plus on retail price.

£500 tops.

Did 1500 miles in the BMW and just over 1000 in the old merc.

Cycle or train to work, so only use the cars for pleasure/shopping.

The free public transport helps

Top this? Microsoft Money tells me I've spent £5,190.27 between 1/1/09 and 31/12/09. All of it at Tesco on 99RON.

About £500 last year, cycle or run to work and six months in Afghanistan, so £500 of octane fuelled fun, should hopefully double that this year with more time in the country

About £1300.... not much really. Only do £125 per week for work, then the few other big-ish journeys...

I presume you guys with high bills (£2k+) can write it all off against tax?

I can only write off max 40% as I'm part self employed, even that the taxman might query.

Really don't want to start adding up, work is a 70 mile round trip ( although I do carshare so this helps) we have two cars and two bikes so driving, riding are our pleasures, we don't go out drinking every weekend so the fuel thing doesn't really concern me ( although in the current climate the pleasure drives/rides have dropped off a little

I'd say about £20 every week or so. Tesco 99 one week and then some V power if I use the scoob to go shopping, in which case she gets a special £30 as a treat when I am over that way. (Cannock)
