Removing vocals from an MP3 track ?
Do we have any music experts in the house ?
I`m after some software that will remove the vocals from an original track on an MP3, ive tried Audacity which is free but its not very good, it leaves traces of the voice behind.
I appreciate that this maybe difficult judging by what ive read on google, is their anything out their that will do the job and is not over complicated to use ?

IMHO - Unless the vocals are on a different channel then it is impossible to remove them completely without ruining the track.
MP3's do not usually have seperate tracks as it is usually mixed down to stereo.
EG;
Channel 1 - music/background track
Channel 2 vocals

Would it be easier if i can source the tracks i need on MIDI ? I appreciate its almost impossible with an MP3 as like you say it will wreck the track, would it be possible to convert an MP3 to MIDI and do it that way ?

When the track wass created - tape or digi - it is likely 20 or so 'channels' including several vocal tracks, the instruments, etc where combined to create the stereo 2ch mix (final) mix

MIDI won't sound the same, although it will do what you want it to do.
To "demix" a song is possible, but with a lot more money/technology than is available I would suspect.
You could try putting the vocal frequencies "out of phase" 180 degrees. A LOT of playing about, and it may or may not work.
Have a look for a Karaoke version - much easier

U2 "With or without you".
I want it similar to the version on the youtube link below minus the poor mixing and the stuttering, basically the original without vocals. Ive done a lot of google searches and they just come back with poor Karaoke versions.
