Default Humax PVR 9300T - problem

The problem is that every day it keeps asking for me to scan for new channels and when I do scan for new channels, moments later it will ask me again to re scan. Also it is missing recording programs. Why is it doing this?

any ideas?

Thanks
Darren

We have problems with our Humax 9200. Very slow population of the EPG. Slow response to remote when rewinding. Missing recordings etc.

Got an unsolicited e-mail from Humax:

No new software is available yet But your 9300 is more recent.

PS my mother-in-law's Panasonic TV keeps saying it has found new channels; you scan, and it has the same as before This is from Winter Hill.

This type of thing seems quite common

You can turn that off on the pansonic t'v's they all do it.

As for the op's original question do you have all your channels?

The Father in Law and one and he has a perfect aerial reception(i installed it ) , the problem you could be have being on winter hill since the switich over the signals went up slightly so could be over signalling.

My Panasonic does not do that, only requested a re-tune when new channels were actually appearing at the beginning of the changeover. Has not asked for one since they are all installed now.

Getting rather annoying.

We have the same channels that our panasonic tv picks up and that does not keep asking for a re scan, just the PVR.

I was wondering whether it has not got the latest software update and even when I do scan it does not find anything. But also more importantly what channel or frequency do I set the PVR to scan.

Last night I was hunting around the internet trying to find other owners with the same problem on forums and the like and I did come across this site to tell me when the update is broadcast OTA.
DTG :: DTT Receiver Downloads

By the time I found this it was too late to do anything. I hear there is a cable you can connect that goes from your PC to the PVR, a RS-232C serial cable.

My dad phoned up Humax yesterday (08446698800) and the recorded message said that on the 01/02/10 there will be a software update set out automatically to your machine so long as you leave it in Standby that night (one night only). Then when you switch it on in the morning it will say you have a new s/w update.
