RC cars and snow
Hi
Do RC cars not like snow, clutches in particular?
I've just had my Revo3.3 out and the clutch started to slip after half a tank of fuel. Brought it in, adjusted the clutch and then it did the same again!
Admittedly I was cocking around trying to get it to do donuts and powerslides...generally going on and off the throttle a lot but still, seems a tad harsh! This was just on the road outside, so it didn't get up to speed at all...still managed to whack it into my car!
Also, I put an anti-roll bar kit on it, seems to understeer a lot now. I can't find the leaflet it came with, anyone know which way to tweak it to make it oversteer?

Yep, our Schumacher Menace started slipping its clutch in the snow and conking out, took ages to get it started as well, fun whilst it lasted though, throwing snow up at people is great, keepign it in a straight line on more than a 1/3 throttle is impossible.

I would guess if the slipper clutch got wet it will slip more, also the pads on it will shrink in the cold. Might be beyond the range of adjustment for it.
Remember playing with my Tamiya Frog in the snow when I was a kid. Great fun No slipper clutch on that thing, probably why it used to strip the differentials in the gear box regularly. Also helped by the old skool mechanical speed control, meaning you could slam it in reverse whilst going full pelt forward and skid to an abrupt stop before hurtling back from whence it came

They must have changed it with the later models (later 5308 & 5309).
Mine is the earlier Revo 3.3 (5308) that has the 2 speed forward and single reverse transmission already installed.

Is it me or is it impossible for a grown man of nearly 40 to retain any dignity when holding the radio gear for a remote control car, no matter how cool it may be, I always have to have one of the kids round and hand it to them if I see anyone I know !

nothing wrong with a grown man playing with rc cars.
there's professional rc racer out there earning over 100k a year.
I crashed our works Revo 3.3 in the snow at slow speeds and the damn thing broke
Think it was way to cold for the Nylon parts

What does that proove ?
People can still earn loads of money and be invaluable in a work environment but never get a girlfriend, spend evenings in front of the computer, live at home with their mums, spend all their money on RC Cars, Japansese cars with noisy exhausts, Computer games, Trolls, Star Trek or **** memorabilia etc.
How do I know, I frequent Scoobynet and work in IT
