A lesson in how to shoot oneself in the foot.

Must be embarassing for Cameroon if he loses the election as NuLab are trying to hand it to him on a plate!

Couple of political has-beens.

Both muppets IMHO and this reinforces that view.

Brown could come through this stronger ... the British like an underdog, someone who has battled through against all odds ... I did think Blair would go down as one of our greatest leaders - it could, amazingly, turn out to be Gordon Brown who holds that honour!?

To call for a leadership contest this close to an election is election suicide

Should be a sinking ship - the fact that there is no other credible ship to board is a disgrace that the Tories should be ashamed of!

Out of interest, can you explain exactly why you say that Billy Liar was one of our greatest leaders. What did he do for this country which qualifies him for that description?

Got rid of one of the worlds most evil dictators?

Or is that not good enough?

Gordon Brown, however, appears to have led the world out of an economic destruction - which is better, would you say?

As stupid as some politicians appear to be, do you honestly think Labour really want another term in power?

It would seem once you are in the higher echelons of power it doesn't matter too much if you are in power or not - the gravy train is still stopping for you to jump on.

The NHS is broke and dangerous, the schools are broke and failing our children, and no government wants to be in power when they give in and put schools and the NHS into private hands - because we all know it won't work.

It would seem logical to allow another party in the hot seat, let them take all the carp and make it 10 times worse then come back in say 8 years time and claim to be the nations saviours.

120 Labour MPs plan to stand down at next general election | Politics | The Observer

I guess there are many reasons for this; rats leaving a sinking ship, had enough, know they won't get re-elected, taking advantage of a £65K golden goodbye....

As for Gordon clown - well he makes me laugh almost as much as you do.

Christ Pete, I'm going to have to call you out on this one.

Blair, at best, helped Bush with Iraq

Brown has yet to lead Britain anywhere, let alone lead the world out of economic destruction.

Thumbs down

But of course if he gets 51% support with 49% against that would be a split which would make the Tories think Christmas had come early

And will the MPs who are hanging up their boots be allowed to vote?

I think this would all be a good thing for the party if there was a popular and competent successor. But there isn't.

As dumb as this move appears, getting rid of GB remains Labours best chance of not getting wiped out at the next election.

Alan Johnson is the man to beat Cameron .... comes across straight and honest, whereas the Eton boy comes across as a weasel.

Yeah - let's have another unelected PM who comes across to SSU as "straight and honest"
More hilarity bought to you by the Labour party.
Bribing the electorate with comedy - gets my vote

Only the really stupid think Brown wasn't elected by his party ....... that is the way things happen in this country - we vote for a party and they elect their leader.

I'm shocked you didn't know that basic, simple, principle of our political system -

Unless their name was Milosevic, Muller Omar or Foday Sankoh therebel leader of Seirra Leone, but don't allow the facts to cloud your judgement will you

But back to the leadership challenge, it really is pathetic that this bunch of slime-***** really think that the electorate are really interested in their internal political wranglings, when they should be, at least attempting, to run the country and get it out of the quagmire they've left it in.
Well you seem interested enough to comment!!!
