Net house prices

Does anyone know of a more reliable free source for house prices?
The one I'm trying to find sold around a year ago and still isn't listed. The last time a sale was listed was in september 2008, could this information be with-held for any reason?

...or look on the land registry (there is a small charge though)

You may find what I found last year ..... Estate Agents were putting SOLD signs up, when they had not - in fact - sold at all ... just made the Agent look like they were selling when all around weren't!!

Shocking underhand tricks ..... in good old Estate Agent style!!
