New Year Resolution?

New Year Resolution?
I don't do New Year Resolutions .... I make resolutions at any time in the year.
However, this year I intend to drop my weight so that I can go up in a Glider in June ........ the limit is 110kgs they say, the parachute is around 10kgs - which means I need to be a max. of 100kgs.
That's quite a lot of weight to lose, but could be done in the 23 weeks I have.
What's yours?

I stopped smoking, Easter 1999 - after smoking for over 30 years! Best thing I ever did for my health (but my weight did go mad! Now trying to address it, finally!).

Seeing your daughter get married should be reason enough? Seeing her children? Seeing her graduate?
I'm not saying it was easy .... for about 3 months it was murder, and it was tough for about 3 years - it gradually gets easier.
It's only now, after 10 1/2 years that I don't feel like a ciggie anymore! Yes, it takes that long, sadly.

Get fit, stop smoking and start running again (all pretty much wrapped up together)
Pay off the car loan and the other debts
Maybe get a new job.

I'm going to lose a stone. Build a garage. Go skiing. Not in any particular order but the stone comes off before the sprint season!

None. I have no reason to make any resolutions at this moment of time.
To add, I don't have to wait for a "new year beginning-new leaf turning" sort of excuse to make any of my decisions.

I used to smoke about the same as Pete but had a spell in hospital having my hip rebuilt. I was not able to walk to the smoking room and when I got home I thought I would try to stop. I cornered the market in Maltesers around here but managed to keep off the ciggies. It is hard of course but gets easier as time passes. Its been 13 years now thank goodness.
Like Pete, the weight went on, especially with eating the maltesers. I have lost a fair bit but got a way to go yet until I am as light as I would like.
