Thumbs down Information Overload........

First off Happy Christmas to SN peeps and families

In the New Year I am thinking about planning a campaign to make life simple, especially in the field of electronic gadgets and household machines. Care to join?

For example I bought a DVD recorder this week so meme-sahib could change from video to DVD recording. I just wanted a recorder that we could understand how to use.

So I took it out of the box last night and the instruction manual is 86 pages long of fairly small print. I have something similar for a recent laptop purchase.

Aaaaggggggggh

I appreciate that all the features need to be explained but I want a machine that has an easy-to-use basic function guide and if I miss out on the finer nuances then tough.

Mustn't moan at Christmas I suppose

David

David - I hate to say it - however you sound like a 12 o'clock flasher.

Without the manual every device in your house would be flashing 12:00

I guess some people need 86 pages of manual, some of us just stick a disc in and work it out!!

Get a Mac then life is simple

Oh, and Happy Christmas!!!

David, instructions are for old people just plug it in and press a few buttons, usually on the remote the ones labelled record or R and play or P are the ones you want
