Skeptical here! Just because impreza's have 4WD it doesn't mean they are great for towing. Back when I had my Saxo I had a meet with some guys on the forum and we had a drive in the pouring rain through Fife. One of the guys lost it into an embankment/burn and we tried to pull him out with Paul's (RIP) UK300. It just sat there wrecking the clutch. A local farmer pulled it out with utter ease in his tractor. That said, the video looks legit and it seems a silly thing to fake. It's probably the case that the truck was just a bawhair away from getting gone on it's own and all it really needed was a little nudge.

How would the back end of the car be pulled off? All you would have would be the force of the Subaru pulling against something that can't be moved. On ice too. Highly unlikely to do any damage to anything.

I think it's real, but the lorry obviously wasn't very stuck... it just needed a little help. I've pulled lorries with things a bit bigger than a Subaru before and failed to shift them!

I found it on the 205 forum funnily enough, where I spend most my time

I may post it once a day like the Clownwatch advent calender, see how long it takes to get banned

I wouldn`t mind knowing if the articulated lorry stopped in time once they went over the brow especially if it was loaded, you can see the trailor start to dip downwards at the end so it must be have been a fair slope on the other side and air brakes and ice are not the best combo

I pulled a LWB transit up a slope this afternoon in the snow in my XC - didn't quite have the grip to do it itself but with the extra from the XC it was easy to get out.

IMHO it's probably possible.....

I once tried to pull a Focus from a snow-bank with my classic, and it just sat and span all four wheels....

To the disgust of the "wimmen" who had parked it into a T-junction at 30 mph.

P.S. Is Bill Maynard still alive..... ?

I would imagine that the lorry only needed a little help to get it out of the gutter while it was also powering itself. I thought the Scooby did well anyway.
