Best N97 mini deals
I'm thinking of getting the missus a new phone for christmas, and know she like the n97 mini....
Anyone know of any good deals out there at the moment where the phone is free...or nearly free?
Doesn't have to have tons of free minutes or texts, but would like free internet for it.
Cheers

Thanks, will check that out.
Has anyone ever got the 'Free X-Box' type deals? Are they a bit of a scam really? And you pay more overall per month etc?

I was actually looking to get an N97 in Dec. Looked at the specs of the mini and normal, and think I would actually go for the normal one. Although the issues above do worry me a little.
What sort of problems have you had ?

I was just going to get her the mini due to it being slightly smaller, and in theory any problems software wise should have been ironed out.
Is it me, or do a lot of the deals not show if they have free internet on them?

lol, to be honest, the mini does seem worse if anything doesn't it!! I do like the look of it more though......
Is there any out and out advantage of the mini over the normal one? Not too fussed about the internal storage really.

The few mm's in it, im not overly convinced by the mini. But that said, there are only a few mm in it between my old and new Berry and that makes a noticable difference.
But given the spec differences... I would get the original lol

- Battery life
- Random crashes
- Slow response times on the touch screen
- Apps not installing from the OVI on-line store
- Wireless connection drop outs
- Random GPS not working
- Screen tilt function not working correctly
Updated the software on-line 3 times now, and still not the best Smart phone going. Now looking at something else, possibly a N900 as these are looking good and getting rave reviews
Still sticking to my Nokia N81, apart from the odd reboot on the phone when playing music through the Bluetooth function, this phone has been more reliable
I think Nokia were feeling the preasure of being left behind with the touchscreen phone market being taken by other manufacturers, so rushed out the N97 to try and compete, and failed

Cheers

Motorola DEXT MB220 - Full phone specifications
Getting some brilliant reviews, (and some crap ones) But seems a good all rounder, and what someone like me would use.
Not that I am planning to replace the BB, but like to keep my hand in with other phones out there, so its something to play with and put the other SIM in.
Curious to try out Android, so it makes sense.
Comparing the 2
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3...&idPhone1=2934
Makes more sense to me to go with the new all singing all dancing, rather than the latest improvement.
That said, like I say, its NOT going to be my main phone, so I can afford to get a phone with some short fallings.
The touchscreen is apparently better, slightly smaller, live widgets..... Just my pick of the bunch at the mo.

lol, little do you know she is on SN everynight checking up on you
Why dont you indirectly ask her. Ask for her input on what phone "Dave" should get for his missus. lol
Not that asking women is the done thing, I realise this, but sometimes it saves a lot of hassle.
No doubt she will pick a pink one, which has a secondary camera so can be used as a mirror too lol
