Chop Shop - Golf
Stumbled upon an episode of Chop Shop last night where they put the running gear of a subaru into a mk2 golf gti. Ive seen the episode before, but it still grates me how that Leepu chap then decided to cut the beautiful lines of a mk2 golf to pieces, such ashame.
I love the idea of a Mk2 Golf with a wrx setup. I would of had that myself, as I love the look of the mk2 golf gti, and love the running gear of a wrx.
He should of just made it look standard, would of been a beauty !

Well, the original chassis legs of the golf was wide enough for the subaru engine, but in the end they cut the front arms off the subaru and welded them into the golf. Not sure how safe it was, but they got it in.
Obviously the wheel span was much wider than the originals, and the front wings would of required some stetching / more metal to accomidate them, but you could of returned the golf very much to its standard look.

Probably would have been easier to put a cossie lump in.
In my yoof when I buying Max Power, it seemed all the rage to put cossie lumps in everything. R5, 205, E36, Golf MK2 even a Ford!
